Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to King William County Criminal History. Viewing content, following a link, or submitting a search means the visitor accepts every term stated below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. It and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The website points readers toward King William County and Virginia record resources. It is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

King William County Criminal History is a private reference site, independent of every government office. It does not keep official criminal files, retrieve records for visitors, perform government checks, or submit forms.

Its content directs readers to the King William County Sheriff's Office, Virginia court clerks, VSP CCRE, VADOC, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. State repository dissemination remains governed by Virginia Code § 19.2-389. Links to outside search tools are provided only as research routes.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on the following restrictions. A visitor must not:

  • Violate federal, Virginia, or local law through the website
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass a person using information found here
  • Rely on website content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any account, server, system, or data
  • Operate a bot, scraper, crawler, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Interfere with performance, security, availability, or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from these pages or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or unlawfully discriminate. Virginia Code § 9.1-913 specifically restricts misuse of information from the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Registry access supports lawful public-safety awareness. It does not authorize vigilantism, blacklisting, retaliation, or interference with a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

King William County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or screening reports. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for evaluating applicants, renters, borrowers, or insured persons. No information from this website or a linked tool may be used to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a tenant or housing application
  • Determine credit terms or insurance eligibility
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public benefit when regulated by the FCRA
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A legally required official or FCRA-compliant process must be obtained from the proper authorized provider. This website cannot supply it.

5. No Legal Advice

The website supplies general information, not legal advice. It cannot interpret how a King William County charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement remedy affects a specific person. Legal questions should be directed to a lawyer licensed in Virginia.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered "as is" and "as available." No warranty is made that:

  • Any item is complete, correct, or current
  • Access will always be available or uninterrupted
  • The website will contain no bug, error, or security weakness
  • An outside search provider will return complete or accurate results

Charges and case records can be amended, dismissed, sealed, or expunged. Agency procedures also change. Website content may therefore lag the official source and must never be treated as a statement issued by a sheriff, court, VSP, VADOC, or registry office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may point to county offices, Virginia court portals, VSP, VADOC, the state registry, legal resources, and commercial services. An outside destination is controlled by its own operator. We are not responsible for its content, uptime, pricing, security, privacy, or terms, which should be reviewed before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the website's text, logo, graphics, and code belong to King William County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, adapting, distributing, or creating derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for loss or damage arising from website use, inability to use it, reliance on its content, or reliance on an outside linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold the website and its operators harmless from claims, demands, actions, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from that user's conduct, misuse, or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. A dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Virginia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, restricted, or terminated at any time, with or without notice, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
